Does Kickd manage substitutions and rotations?
Yes — that's the job. Subs are two taps on the live court view, rotation alerts tell you when a change is due, and your lineup carries through every quarter break. Most basketball apps score or analyse the game; Kickd runs the bench.
What basketball stats does Kickd record?
Free throws, 2-pointers and 3-pointers live (threes from U13, per the junior framework); from U13 up, with Team Stats, it also logs missed shots, assists, rebounds, steals, blocks, turnovers and fouls. Log the misses and every quarter break shows a shooting table: FG, 3PT and FT made of attempted for each shooter and the team, with the same table across the season — plus Player of the Match voting after the buzzer. U10 to U12 teams can switch the stat set on under EXTENDED STATS (no three and no missed three at those ages, since the junior framework has no arc).
Does Kickd need any extra hardware courtside?
No. Everything is tapped on the phone or tablet you already own, it works offline, and parents can follow the live score for free.
Can I log basketball by voice?
Yes — Kickd Callout, included in every plan at every age group, logs the game completely hands-free on your phone mic or a Bluetooth headset (a boom mic like the Shokz OpenComm 2 for match day): say "basket fifteen" or "three pointer twelve" and the game updates without touching the screen. Recognition runs on-device and works fully offline.
How long are the quarters in junior basketball?
Associations set their own. Four quarters of 8 minutes (common at U6 to U9) or 10 minutes (U10 and up) are the usual junior formats in Australia, and some associations play two halves of 18 or 20 minutes instead. Kickd defaults to four quarters, with COMMON TIMES presets for 4 × 8, 4 × 10, 2 × 18 and 2 × 20 and a FORMAT switch between quarters and halves.
Is there a three-point line in junior basketball?
Not at U12 and under: Basketball Australia's junior framework has no three-point arc until U13, so every field basket scores two. Kickd follows that — the +3 THREE button appears on the court from U13, and U12 and under score with +2 BASKET and +1 FT only.
