# Kickd

> Kickd is an Australian game-day management app for grassroots sport, built first for rugby league and soccer — and supporting ten sports in total: AFL, hockey, netball, rugby union, Oztag, touch football, basketball and water polo. Coaches run live player rotations and interchanges, track fair playing time, log scores and match stats, and run Player of the Match voting — from Under 6s through to senior grades and Opens. Parents follow live for free; clubs and associations manage every team from one dashboard.

Key facts:

- Sports: rugby league and soccer (lead sports), plus AFL, hockey, netball, rugby union, Oztag, touch football, basketball and water polo — each with sport-specific positions, rotations, scoring and stats.
- Age groups: Under 6 to Opens. Juniors get fair-playing-time tracking and development features; senior grades get planned interchanges, live match stats and player-voted awards.
- Rugby league: planned interchanges with live alerts (capped at 10 a match, 8 at Opens), 13-a-side positions, First Receiver / Dummy Half vest rotation tracking for U8–U12 under the NRL Junior Laws, tries/conversions/penalty goals/field goals, tackle counts, possession and set-completion analytics for U13+.
- Soccer: age-appropriate formats (4-a-side U6–U7, 7-a-side U8–U9, 9-a-side U10–U12, 11-a-side from U13), automatic minutes tracking with a "Needs More Minutes" list, goals, shots on target, keeper saves, intercepts and cards, drag-and-drop formations.
- Hockey: rolling subs with live minutes and rotation pools by line, green/yellow/red card timers on the game clock (a yellow is 5 or 10 minutes, asked when the card is shown) with a card-impact report, saves credited to whoever made them and goals against; from U14 (or U12 by opt-in) circle entries and shot accuracy for both teams, penalty corners and penalty strokes with conversion rates, every goal split into field goal / penalty corner / penalty stroke for both teams, tackles and turnovers won.
- Water polo: live pool view for all 7 with a goalkeeper slot, time in the water per player, rotation pools by role; from U14 (or U12 by opt-in) shots on/off target for both teams, exclusions drawn and conceded with automatic 20-second player-up/player-down windows giving man-up conversion and penalty-kill %, 5m penalties with conversion, GK saves, field blocks, steals and turnovers. FlippaBall halves to championship quarters.
- Platform: iOS and Android, phone and tablet. Works offline on the sideline. No GPS units, wearables or extra hardware — stats are logged by the coach, by tap or by voice.
- Kickd Callout: voice logging, included in every Kickd plan at no extra cost — there is no voice add-on to buy. On-device automatic speech recognition (not a voice assistant) maps spoken commands from each sport's fixed vocabulary — like "try nine" in rugby league — to live match events. Works fully offline, nothing leaves the phone, in all ten sports and at every age group. It runs on the phone or tablet mic, or on a Bluetooth headset; a boom mic is what holds up in crowd noise. The plan sets how much of the vocabulary it hears: a Team Pass calls scores, cards, subs, rotations and undo, while Team Stats and the club plans call the full stat set.
- Pricing (Australian dollars, GST inclusive, per team unless stated): the first 3 matches are free at the full Team Stats level — no account needed to start, no card on file. A Team Pass is A$19.99 per team for an 11-month season and covers the live match timer, rotations and fair game time, scores, cards, Player of the Match voting and Kickd Callout voice for those calls. Team Stats is A$49.99 per team per season and adds the sport's complete stat set, season stat reports and the full Callout vocabulary. Clubs pay one monthly plan covering every team in the club, priced by sport: A$60/month for Oztag and touch football, A$80/month for soccer, netball, AFL, hockey, basketball, rugby union and water polo, and A$100/month for rugby league (clubs of more than 40 teams pay double). - Origin and usage: built in Australia. As at 20 September 2026, 197 teams have run a live match on Kickd and logged 504 matches between them across all ten sports, more than 100 of those teams are on a paid plan, and 13 clubs subscribe. The cluster it started in is the Illawarra (NSW); it is not limited to there.
